In looking for sources for my archived backgrounds page, I came across many sites from the earlier web that have been kept alive through other archiving projects. At first, I was delighted to find these sites because many of them had graphics on them that I thought I could archive! However, most did not wish for their graphics to be added to collections, which was a disappointment. I thought it was sad that if I chose to archive their graphics in the way I wanted to that I would be going against their wishes; therefore, I created this section as a compromise. It's a great shame these sites are no longer accessible in their most active forms and only live on in archives, but it's also so fortunate there are services out there keeping the relics of our online world alive. I know some people might think it's silly for me to respect the words of sites that no longer exist, but the creators still deserve to have their wishes honoured. I may not know them and they might never learn of what I'm doing, but that doesn't change anything for me. Afterall, I truly believe we wouldn't have the community we have today were it not for personal sites like this in the first place. If nothing else, this will at least serve as a memorial for sites that were never given a proper send off. They'll exist as long as I have my site, so lets give them some well-earned love!

If you find anything you like on these pages, please follow the site owners Terms of Use and credit them appropriately!

FANCY SHMANCY GRAPHICS

This is a site with both background sets & tile backgrounds! Much of the backgrounds here are coloured texture & floral designs on white backgrounds, with varying categories of sets :3 Not all pages with sets have been saved, unfortunately :( However, there are still lots to look through!

BACKGROUNDS BY MARIE

Another graphics site with backgrounds and sets! In addition to regular tile backgrounds, it also has tons of left/border backgrounds as well ^-^

NOTE: For some reason, the oldest archive for this site continually refreshes while you're on it. The link works, but once the page loads it will reload once again, making it a bit hard to use. I've provided the next oldest archive of the site, which works perfectly well! If you run into any other pages on this site doing the same thing, try and find a later archived page of it; it should work.

S.F.'S GRAPHX

This site has backgrounds, left/border backgrounds and sets! Most of the archived links lead to pages that weren't archived, but they ARE active in the current geocities.ws link! That being said, some sets haven't been preserved :( There is still lots to look through, though!

LAMANDER'S GFX

This site is more oriented to tutorials of ALL kinds than it is for having graphics, but there's still a scant few to look through :3 As I've never used Paint Shop Pro - or anything like it, for that matter - I'm not sure how useful any of the tutorials would be, but feel free to look through them! Perhaps they have some use, even 24 years later ^-^ There's also some basic HTML help to find on this site, too.

NEORENEGADE

This site doesn't have much material in most categories, but it is a product of earlier music days where people used WinAMP and burned their own CD's! There are a few collections of backgrounds - which I've downloaded without problem, so they should be safe - and a few icons and cursors. While the cursors and backgrounds download as ready to use files, the icons are files that I'm not sure how to open. If you know how to open .dll files, though, it may be worth it to you to download them and see what they are! Please do download with caution, though.

JILANA'S COUNTRY COTTAGE

This site has some background sets, banners, buttons, and tiles, and also some tools and resources for PSP. Again, I'm not sure if the things for PSP have any use to anyone anymore ^^; In addition to the graphics, the site owner also spoke a bit about her pets, where she lives, her job, and a music artist she really liked :3 It's a nice, home-y little site! Also has links to many sites based in Nashville!

DEB'S GRAPHICS

This is a site that as both tutorials for Photo Impact and some graphics! The graphics portion is a bit hard to navigate but I explain that all below and I'm not sure whether the tutorials have use today, but I will give all the links I have!

MS. VIC'S TEA BAG TILES & BACKGROUNDS

This section will probably be my largest section of links, so please do bear with me ^^; The site owner had many different sites! Her sites have (almost) nothing but tea-bag folding tiles, which I had no idea existed before finding her sites! It's a paper craft similar to origami, that produces star shaped crafts people use for cards, scrapbooking, etc.,. I do think a lot of the designs would like nice as backgrounds, however, but perhaps it would be fun to try these designs as they were meant to be used :3

WEB WEAVER 21st CENTURY HTML

This site has a few graphics, but focused more on Paint Shop Pro tips, genealogy (specifically in a town in Tennessee), and providing web design for clients. It's a very interesting site that I think encapsulates what earlier web pages were all about. Also, as of now, this is the oldest site that I have! It's been around since 1996, and is older than me :o

CAROL'S PLACE

In rare fashion, this site is still up and running! It's not active and seems to have last been updated sometime in 2014, but it's quite nice to see a site like this still around. The site has backgrounds of many kinds, but it also has some sets and borders floating around, as well as being a personal website. Despite it still being up, I have provided archived links, however, as I know sites like this can disappear at any time. Since the site still exists, I wish the owner of it well!!!

NEVIT'S NET SITE

This site is quite varied in it's content! Has some backgrounds and other various graphics, some of which seemed quite advanced & experimental for the time, among personal websites. And, in showing just how different things are today than how they used to be, this page has a gamma & colour test for monitors, something that I don't think anyone needs to do anymore!

LADY CARE DESIGNS

This is a site that, despite the amount of pages there are for it, none of them have been archived that well :( At one point it seemed to be full of sets, but time has taken it's toll on this site and most appear to be gone. It's still fun to go through all them and search for anything that's still around, though! Also, it seems this one has taken the crown for most links for one site I have!

NOTE: The main page for this leads to a non geocities.ws link, so I've added the working links for this so it's easy to access! That being said, the only page that loads directly through the .ws link is the 'others' category :( The 'fantasy' and 'kids sets' categories also load, however you will need to change the links from .com URL's to .ws URL's as those links have not changed.
