What Are Blinkies?

Blinkies are small pixel banners (usually 150x20) that were commonly used in the era of MySpace, Geocities, and other personal websites to add some flair to peoples pages and convey information in a unique & fun way :3 When these sites were no longer around, blinkies fell out of use as personal & customizable sites became less and less popular. Where we're at now with most social media being so sterilized and limited with customization, blinkies are most commonly used here on NeoCities and shared around Tumblr blogs ^_^

Hi, you're currently viewing some templates for blinkies I've found :3 The first section of templates I found here, and the second section I found here. The first site has a page where you can make your own blinkies, but it only lets you add text and while that's great I did decide to download the templates for anyone who might want to be more creative with their blinkies! The direct link to the blinkie maker is here in case you're wanting to make your own ^-^

In addition to having templates, both sites have TONS of blinkies (commentslive has plenty of other things, too, like backgrounds and glitter fills!) to look through so I do recommend you peruse through them if you want :3
